The answer is yes. Tests have shown abnormalities in the central nervous system of people suffering from Fibromyalgia. There are strong indicators for a connection between Fibromyalgia and a reduced ability to reach sleep phases as deep as would be expected from a healthy person. It is not known if this dysfunction is a cause or a symptom of Fibromyalgia, but the result is always the same: Fibromyalgia is inevitably connected with the impossibility to achieve full recreation by sleep. There are varieties though in the degree of deep sleep impediments between different individuals suffering from Fibromyalgia. Accordingly there are differences in the severity of chronic fatigue experienced by different individuals. In the best cases the chronic fatigue goes almost unnoticed. In the worst cases it can lead to an almost permanent “mind fog” which disables the victims for any kind of activity requiring concentration or alertness. So any treatment of Fibromyalgia has to include medication to induce and improve deep sleep. This is why exotic drugs like marihuana or kratom can be especially helpful. |
